While working in small groups, we briefly review the targeted spelling pattern using these Phonological Anchor Charts before transitioning to the day's routine. These visual supports serve as an initial scaffold, with the gradual release of responsibility as students build confidence and familiarity. Multiple copies are available for reference, helping students work more independently while reinforcing key phonological concepts. Students record these phonological patterns at the beginning of each unit and store their individual anchor charts in personal folders. However, for students who struggle with organization, retrieving them quickly can be a challenge and often delays instruction.

Foundational Morphological and Phonological Anchor Charts

These are hung on the walls all year long and introduced during our first unit: Foundations.
